Ridesharing 

Ridesharing in rural areas

• Immediate Requests

Unlike densely populated areas, in small country towns there simply isn't enough call for someone to sit in a car waiting for a job. I'll always do what I can to accommodate immediate requests, but do understand if I can't cover short notice bookings.

• Pickups outside of Iluka

There's nothing quite as miserable as driving half an hour for a 'no show'.  Due to previous bad experiences of people changing their mind and not telling me, I require payment by Visa or MasterCard over the phone BEFORE setting off for pickups outside of Iluka.

• Pricing for rural areas

Unlike my city counterparts, if I take you from Iluka to Ballina Airport, the chances of me picking up a ride to get me home are ZERO. Hence the pricing.​​

• Pricing Policy 

Whether you're paying from your own pocket or fully funded by NDIS, HCP, DVA or any other source, ALL prices are the same as shown here.

• Rates for Non-Iluka pickups

Being an Iluka-based service, all trips are priced as though they are starting or finishing in Iluka.  So if you're in Woombah and want to go to Maclean, the fare will be the same as if starting in Iluka.

• Refunds

Your booking is only accepted if you agree:

• That any refund will be made by the same payment method it was made. (Eg. Cash to cash)  

• Where we can't easily meet up for a cash refund, I'll transfer it to your bank account. I will need to have this in writing via text message.

• Refunds to cards can only be made back to the same card and will be less merchant fees.  (Where same card isn't available, a bank cheque will be issued with costs and an admin fee of $20 deducted)

• No refund request will be entertained if I am en-route to your pick up, or you are a 'no show'.

• Discounts

​There are no discounts.

• ​​Return Trip Surcharge

Trips are priced to cover the time and mileage to return to the Iluka base.  A surcharge applies if you're joining me for the trip back. This compensates me for the commitment and loss of flexibility to my schedule.

• Waiting Time 

Apart from Iluka / Woombah (30mins) and Brisbane (2 hours), one hour is included in the price shown for destinations.  Additional waiting time, (if I can do it), is billed at $40 per hour or part there of.

• Hours of Operation

This service is predominantly offered during daylight hours.  So not to create any false expectation of night services, on 1 July 2025 I deleted specific hours and pricing for 'Night' and 'Late Night' services.

By all means, no harm in asking about a night run. As I drive most days and never when tired, anything 'late' would ALWAYS require forward notice.    If I do accept your trip, it will probably require me not taking on something earlier in the day. In any event a surcharge will apply and prepayment will apply.​
